lemons

Filed under: gardening — Jana @ 1:43 pm

We have these two lemon trees in the back yard.  They are magic.  One that has been bearing fruit since we moved in… which makes pink lemons, and a baby tree that up until just recently hadn’t born any fruit.  We finally picked a yellow lemon off of it today and cut it open and wouldn’t you know it… Green lemons!

For reference… here are our magic pink and green lemons next to a run o’ the mill costco lemon. :)

See I told ya… magic.

Ok, so the pink may just be a grapefruit hybrid, and the green is probably some sort of lime hybrid, but that still seems pretty magic to me.

christmas

Filed under: carmen, family, me, moseley — Jana @ 7:07 pm

We had our traditional mexican dinner at my grandma’s with orange julius.  We rang bells and the kids acted out the christmas story.  It was especially cute this year since all the wise men we’re under 3.

Moseley was seriously depressed that he had to be a king… and didn’t like all the attention.  It was so adorable, I am really bummed I didn’t have my better camera.

We then went home to get ready for santa to come  we left cookies and milk, and a couple of carrots.

This is the first year Carmen was able to write her own letters to Santa.  I am really proud of how smart she is getting. (and seriously, how cute is that rudolph she drew all by herself)

Christmas morning the kids were stoked to find out that santa left them presents.  My favorite part was listening to Moseley copy everything Carmen said.  She had commented on some mini twix bars being “so cute”, so of course  a little while later Moseley pulls some candy canes out of his stocking and says “Too Cute!”  because that’s obviously what you say about the contents of your stocking on Christmas morning.  Hilarious.

We made rookie mistake and let them open their nintendo DS’s right towards the beginning, and after that Moseley wouldn’t even open the rest of his presents.  He only wanted his DS and nothing else. I was a little bummed about it, since me and everyone else in the room was so excited to see them open the gifts we had picked out.  Eventually  throughout the morning we got him to open everything, but he still didn’t want any of it.  He was just too overwhelmed.  In fact, I asked him if I should take some of it back to the store and he said yes.  Bummer.

Here we are after church; Us and my Mom and brother Ryan.

The next day we went to the provo river bottom shops to eat at Tucanos (grilled pineapple. Yum.) and they had a beautiful lights display so we walked the winter wonderland together and then went to the Provo Beach Resort for the kids to play for a while.  It was awesome.
