irony wins

Filed under: carmen — Jana @ 1:14 pm

I had to take Carmen to the E.N.T. doctor today because the skin that attaches her upper lip to her gums was really low and it is causing her teeth to grow in with a gap. (I needed to see if it had to be snipped.)

Well as I am waiting in the waiting room Carmen decided she wanted to walk around with my heavy purse and she tripped on it and face planted right on the floor.  When I picked her up her mouth was bleeding.  And wouldn’t you know it she had split that little piece of skin I was formerly talking about getting snipped.  Sad that she got hurt but I am wondering if it may have solved our problem…(I only wish I hadn’t already paid the co-pay)

Anyway in case you were wondering I did obviously go in to see the doctor and he didn’t give me a concrete answer about it yet.  He wants me to go to the dentist first to see if it is going to be a problem or not.

After we left, I took her to get a delicious piece of chocolate cake, and the day turned out OK in the end.

  1. This is so hilarious. I mean, sad. Or whatever! I feel bad for laughing at Carmie’s pain but that really is ironic.

    I miss you sewing chix.

  2. “isn’t it ironic!” Oh, and I CAN see all your blog and it looks great. I don’t know why everyone has a hard time seeing mine. Sheesh.

  3. I had to have that little flap-thing under my tongue clipped like 5 years ago…not the most fun experience in my life, but hey, I’d do it for a big piece of chocolate cake! Mmmmmm.

  4. My vote is definitely for ironic. I had to laugh at the situation although it would’ve been nice if there was no pain involved!

    MMM… chocolate cake.

  5. What luck! Hopefully that fixed the problem. Brenden had to get his tongue thingy snipped with scissors when he was just a baby. It was so so sad.

  6. Todd would laugh at me because I would have thought the same thing if it happened to me: wish I hadn’t paid the co-pay!
