One of the coolest things about being a parent is getting to see all the funny cute stuff that your kids do, and only you get to see it.

Carmen is so hilarious because she has so much style for a one year old. When ever I turn on an up-beat song she raises her arm and sways it up and down with her finger pointing. And she is always right on beat, it is so funny because she usually has this chill look on her face like she knows she is so cool… like a little rapper or something.

The other night she also did something very funny and cute. Lee wasn’t feeling well so he asked me for a back massage. Well Carmen decided she wanted in on the fun, so she climbed up on our bed and started rubbing his back too. Then when that got old for her she saw me putting lotion in my hands so she decided she wanted lotion too, so I would pump a tiny bit in her hand and she would rub it all over her face and hair and body. She didn’t get bored of this for a long time, she just kept putting the lotion bottle in my hand and holding our her tiny hand for me to pump a little into it. By the end she was one big grease ball, but her skin was very soft and supple :).

  1. She is so dang cute! I can picture the hands and lotion… too cute!

  2. Brenden used to do that with lotion. :) I love watching their little personallities come out. One day they’re babies and the next they’re little people. Carmen is so cute.

  3. Kids definitely learn by example. I think she gets the chill look from Lee and the rhythm from you. I haven’t seen her for such a long time. It will be great to see how her little personality has developed.
