Adventures in toddler travels… part 3

Filed under: carmen, family — Jana @ 6:00 am

For the fourth of July we took Carmen to sit out side of the stadium of fire where we sat on a grass hill and watched the hilarity that ensued when Carmen realized walking on a hill was much different from walking on flat ground. Everyone knows she already walks like a tiny drunk person, not even on a slope, so she was like a tiny pin ball bouncing from person to person while we all laughed. We even wrapped her in a blanket and rolled her down the hill which was really funny. The fireworks were fun to watch and Carmen wasn’t even phased by the loud sounds…I think the Disney music helped with that. About half way through she fell asleep, too much excitement for one day I guess.

We spent the rest of the week playing on my grandparent’s farm, which is really surreal when you see your kids playing and doing the same exact same stuff you did as a kid. One thing Carmen particularly liked was the old tire swing that we played on as kids. With every push she let out a “Weeeeeeee!”

And she also liked to jump on the very same trampoline we jumped on when we were little…(it’s getting a little threadbare now though)

  1. I totally love her swimsuit. Remember what I said about “I wish that grownups would look as cute as kids do in clothes”? Well, this is one of those times that applies. I will leave the skimpy bikinis to Carmen and stick to my tankinis and board shorts!

  2. Ditto to Misty. If only my stomach looked as “smooth” after 3 kids. :)
