More girly sweetness.

Filed under: carmen, knitting — Jana @ 7:41 am

I finished the sweater I started for Carmen about a month ago. I had to put it off for a while to finish other projects but I finally got back to it. knitting 057

I am especially excited about this because it is the first thing I actually knit for Carmen so far. I should have started with her, being that she is so small and the projects go faster, but hey you learn as you go I guess. I have officially made something for each of us, and I don’t have to feel guilty for always giving everything I make away and never making anything for the people I am the most close to…my family.

I just hope she doesn’t grow too much before it actually gets chilly enough to wear it…you know like under 70 :) .

In this picture she is just thrilled to give up her bottle to take a picture, cant you tell.

The pattern is Vestee from knitty.

I am actually really proud of myself because guess what… I started by knitting a gauge swatch! I know it’s a miracle. It does actually give you peace of mind knowing you are knitting something to be the size intended. It didn’t end up like my first disaster that looked more like this:

  2. It is freakin’ adorable – you really could sell them. And even though Carmen doesn’t seem overly happy to give up her bottle in the picture, I think her face is absolutely beautiful, even with the scowl!

  8. Oooo…it turned out so cute!! Hey, I’m trying to figure out Gimp so I can do some cool things with my pictures but I am totally clueless. How did you learn how to work it?

  10. I love it Jana! Almost as much as I love Carmen’s hair pulled back in a messy knot. She is so good looking!
