I got some really luxurious hand painted yarn from a shop on etsy called woolly boully .

The Color is called strawberry moon of June. I just loved it so I had to grab it.

meanie yarn

So I decided to make Carmen a little halter out of it.

I especially like the back.

It needs to be layered over something as to not be too grown up looking, but for a warm summer fall day lounging it was fine for taking pictures.

The pattern is katja from knitty. I had to play with it quite a bit to get it to fit. That’s why it doesn’t look exactly like the pattern. I tried to make it bigger because the smallest size was 18 months and Carmen i s already bigger than that. But some how I miscalculated and made it huge. So then when I frogged and re-did it, it turned out pretty snug. So… Oh well, I am still pretty new at this whole knitting thing.

Anyway I still have a bunch of yarn left over so I think I will make Carmen some matching baby legs out of it or something… Just as soon as I get done with Debbie’s beanie I have been telling her I would make. (which I am on my second attempt at that, too) I am really not an expert knitter yet…But I do have perseverance anyhow.

  1. I am so impressed! That turned out adorable and I love the color of the yarn. Are you gonna start making stuff for the new baby? Prob not til you find out what you are having, huh?

  5. Seriously, even if I learned how to knit, I don’t think I could ever make things look that professional. I learned how to crochet once when I was younger and even though I have forgotten how to do it, I haven’t forgotten how horrible I was at it! Great job & Carmen looks adorable in it.
