My dream guy and other musings

Filed under: carmen, me, random, the office — Jana @ 1:59 pm

I am so stoked that it is thursday and the office is back on tv.  I especially know I am excited because I am having dreams about Jim again…That must mean the season is in full swing.  And in my dream, yes, me and Pam are pretty much interchangeable.

I finally have my Halloween decorations out, thanks to Tami for reminding me that it is in fact October and time to start gearing up for the holidays.  This should be a fun season because Carmen is finally getting old enough to understand what the heck is going on.  I do still have to find her a costume though.  I have a dinosaur costume that is a tiny bit big for her.  I tried it on her today and it was just about the funniest, cutest thing I’ve ever seen, except for the part where she threw a humongous fit until I took it off of her.  So I think I am going to have to find her something a little less restrictive.

With my morning sickness zapping the energy out of me, I have only now started to realize that Carmen’s life is getting extremely boring.  I need to get that kid out of the house.  I keep reading everyone’s blog posts about going to Disney land, the zoo, and the beach I am starting to feel a little bad that I hardly ever take Carmen to do anything fun.  Her one weekly trip to the pool is about the extent of it.  So, I need to get my butt in gear and start making her life a little bit more exciting.  If only…I…could…get…off…the couch.  One of these days I am going to do it.  I am also a little sad I don’t have the energy to cook anymore.  I keep hearing about everyone making these warm soup and cornbread meals for the fall and I am jealous.  Only it would take way too much energy to actually make any of these myself.  So I will just live vicariously through the pictures and recipes  I read about on blogs.

Sorry for this random post I just felt bloggy and had nothing else to blog about at the moment.

  2. Don’t stress about the not cooking… I rarely cook (at least anything that good) and I really have no excuse. But hey, as soon as you are feeling better and I’m over my last zoo experience – we can totally go. My annual pass lets me bring one person with for free every time I go, and Carmen is free. So hooray, something fun to do! Lauren, Krystal, Jess, maybe Shannon? and whoever else has kids that fit into that category – the offer is open to you too! The zoo would be more fun if I had a buddy to come along. Under age 3 is free. Oh and we get into the Wild Animal Park free too. Just let me know when you’re feeling up to it. And good for you on the decorations… I got the box down, but have just been looking at it in the garage since.

  3. Actually, I remember now that all kids are free into the zoo for the month of October… just so everyone knows. But that probably makes it more crowded.

  4. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re doing a great job and I’m learning that kids are pretty resilient! I’m planning another trip to the beach next week if you’re interested. Now that school’s back in, I was able to part 30 feet from the sand last time so it’s not such a chore to get back and forth with the kids. Anyone else want to go too? The more the better!

  5. Jana, I watched The Office again last night – love it. And you know who my dream guy is? DWIGHT. I freaking love him.

  6. Hold the phone – you’re Pam, too? I wonder how many girls dream about Jim every Thursday night.

If you ever feel up to getting out on your own, I’m doing sewing nights again at my house. I’ll scrub my toilet extra clean just in case. :P

I hope you start feeling better. And for the record, I think that feeling as sick as you do, Carmen will have to be happy with having her needs met and I don’t think she’ll remember three months down the road that she didn’t get a ton of outings. I think the sibling is worth the sacrifice!

  7. The Office was great last night, huh?! I love that show. Don’t worry about not being able to get off the couch. I can’t either. Let’s just say that Addi watches A LOT of Monsters Inc. It will pass and you will be on the move again and you will miss when you didn’t have to cook. :)

  8. dude, what is even up. I wanted to say HI before I leave for like a year in Utah. OK it’s only 10 days but still. I haven’t seen you for 10 days, so that’s like, what, a year?

    Take care and be chill.

  9. I helped with my cousin’s 2 month old over the weekend and I don’t know how parents even do anything when they have kids and babies or are pregnant…I think that women have been doing it for a long time. I am sure that if Carmen has to watch TV while you are going through morning sickness, she will be fine. You are a great mother!
