Yes, another pumpkin patch story

Filed under: carmen, family — Jana @ 6:12 pm

We went to the pumpkin patch with Chantel, Crew, and Jax on Saturday. My stories aren’t quite as fun or happy as theirs because our family is in a different place right now… I guess you could say. Carmen at the moment is deathly afraid of all animals except our dog Tiger. Which confuses me because we have a dog… so it’s not like she hasn’t been exposed to animals since she was born… but anyway. So needless to say she hated the petting zoo. She continually said “NO,NO” over and over until I took her out of there. She wouldn’t even pet the white fuzzy bunny that was approximately the size of Tiger, or the tiny baby ducks.

I was a bit dismayed by this, because I had such high hopes that she would have so much fun. Then after I left the petting zoo I realized I lost the tickets I had purchased for the pony ride… Which I see now was a huge sign saying JUST FORGET ABOUT IT! But I ignored it and went to buy more tickets to let her ride. After all, she saw Crew riding the ponies and when I asked her if she wanted to go too, she said yes. Anyway the second I set her on the saddle it was meltdown city. When I picked her back up she clung on to me for dear life. Here is a few happy-ish pictures of her after she calmed down, and got away from all living animals.

My only complaint about the pumpkin patch was there wasn’t much food there, and if I don’t eat every moment of the day I get sick. If the ice cream truck hadn’t come, I would have been forced to eat all of Chantel’s kid’s food, and that just seems wrong taking food from babies.
Carmen had the most fun pushing Jax’s stroller around, which she can do for free, but we all learn our lessons our own way, don’t we.
Here are the kids all tuckered out on the drive home… I thought it was cute that they all had the same body language.

  2. Ha… that seems to happen a lot with little kids. You get your hopes all up that they will react a certain way and they totally have a plan of their own. I guess this means we won’t be hitting the zoo anytime soon?

  3. We’re heading to the pumpkin patch this weekend! I can’t wait. No pony rides though…Brenden would not be ok either. Kids are funny.

  6. I sometimes wish that Tristan was afraid of animals. He will run after pretty much anything on four legs and put his hand out to pet it! Carmen does look adorable though – even if she didn’t have a ton of fun.

  8. Had you guys just taken a sharp left or what? That picture is so cute – I guess all that fear wiped little Carmen out.
