Christmas 2007

Filed under: carmen, family, holidays — Jana @ 5:45 pm

We’re back!

And man did I forget how cold Utah is. The first time we got out of the car into the snow to go into a gas station…I was SHOCKED! Me and Carmen about froze our tail feathers off! In the warm car I was thinking “we should get out and let Carmen play in the snow”, then as soon as my skin touched the air, It was more like “I’m freakin’ freezing mr. Bigglesworth.” And we booked it inside as fast as we could. We did eventually play in the snow though… and it was fun for about 15 minutes.

Christmas was really fun this year. We have the kids dress up while we read the biblical account of Christ’s birth. There weren’t very many of us home this year so there were only enough kids to have two kings, a shepherd, and Mary (played by Carmen).

She quickly ditched the costume and spent the rest of the time unwrapping and re-wrapping the anatomically correct baby Jesus doll in his swaddling clothes. Which was pretty humorous for the rest of us.

She had fun opening her presents… This is the first year she has really gotten into it. Which makes it really fun for us. Luckily Grandma spoiled her because we weren’t going to make a big deal out of christmas gifts this year.

I especially loved when she would rip off a tiny chunk of wrapping paper she would say “here” and hand it to the closest person. Also the squeals of delight were really funny!

  1. Looks like you had a fun Christmas. I’m glad I got to see you. Hopefully next time it will be when I am in California!

  2. Seriously, she Carmen is adorable. I love her beanie (I bet you made it) and she looks like a perfect little angel as Mary.

  3. Looks like you had a fun Christmas. So glad we were able to see you for a bit. Hope you both have fun on your upcoming trip to Hawaii. If I can help let me know. I’d love to help out with Carmie if you can find a way to get her here. I’m so excited that you’ll be able to get away with Lee. I love and cherish the trips Lawrence and I have taken. It’s hard to leave the kiddies, but it’s always WAY worth it to be able to spend one on one time with my man.

  4. I loved all the snow in Utah for Christmas, but it was definately freezing. I sent Brenden out to play in it with Dad while I happily stay warm inside. I’m glad we got to see you guys for a minute. Let me know what your plans are for Hawii. I’m excited for the possibility of playtime with Carmen.

  5. I wish you could swap us for a bit and live with the Rexburg cold and us with the warmth of Temecula. Coming home from the holidays is always nice, but I hate the cold weather here! Carmen was so cute when she said “Nemo”
