Happy 2nd Birthday Carmen

Filed under: carmen, family, me — Jana @ 5:22 pm

Yep, that’s right, I am the mother to a Two Year Old!

Since Lee wasn’t going to get to see her much on her actual birthday, we took her the night before to Chuck’E Cheese’s. It’s like sensory overload there, so of course Carmen loved it, just as long a Chuck ‘e didn’t touch her. I thought this picture was funny. It’s of Carmen looking at the picture of herself that printed out of the ride. It’s funny because she has a scowl on her face. She was looking at it like it bugged her or something.

Afterward Lee took her to toys’r us to pick out a baby doll for her birthday.

On her birthday I thought it would be fun to take her to Disney Land just me and her, so we could ride all the rides that she wanted to ride.

We probably would have spent the whole time on the carousel, but after one ride it broke and we could ride no more. So we went to California adventure and rode monster’s inc. for a while, and she loved it.

They always have jamming California tunes when you walk into California adventure, which Carmen loves to dance to.

She even wanted to join the cast of high school musical, and had to continually be reminded that she couldn’t get too close to the dancers.

She is such a cool little kid, her personality is just the best!

I think it’s funny that when I take her to mickey and minnie’s houses that she is deathly afraid they are going to come out, yet when I take her into the haunted mansion she just says “Ooooh spooky”. Maybe I should stop letting her watch nightmare before christmas, that tim burton is making my child a little too used to weird stuff or something.

After that we ate a giant, greasy, delicious corn dog and played until she passed out.

Except for the ridiculous tram system getting to and from the park, the whole day was a blast.

We came home and sang happy birthday to her and she blew out the candles on her mickey cake.

We brought the cupcakes to play group the following day, and her friends gave her some fun presents. I think that would qualify as a pretty awesome birthday for a 2 year old, She is an extremely luck kid, and we are extremely lucky to have her too.

  2. Two is an AMAZING age!! I loved it. Everyone always talks about the terrible twos. I’d have to disagree. Each age has been so fun. What a cutie patootie little Carmen is. Sounds like you did it up right for her birthday.

  4. I do the same thing…it’s crazy to just sit and think “I’m a mom!” Those were some cute shots you took of her with the balloons. You’ve inspired me to take Allison just me and her one time to Disneyland.

  10. I don’t think I’ve ever watched The Night Before Christmas all the way through, it creeps me out! Carmen’s my hero. She is so cute. I know I say that on ever post, but it is just the truth!

  11. This is so cute of Carmen – Happy Birthday! I too love the picture with the balloon with her covering her face. She is so grown up – wanting to cover her face out of embarrassment for a picture. And what a thoughtful mom you are to take her to the places she loves. Mom & me time is always needed. And the cake – adorable!
