Socks

Filed under: friends, knitting — Jana @ 6:23 am

I made the transition, and now I am a sock knitter. Ok so not officially, but I finally tried knitting socks and found out it’s really fun. It’s kind of a big deal for me since this is the first project I’ve made with real contours, In stead of just a flat surface i.e. a scarf or blanket.

I made these socks for Wendy for her birthday… Which I’m sure your thinking that it is a dumb gift, but these are made out of hand painted merino wool… So they are a little better than your average tube sock. And I remember her telling me she likes her feet to be hot at night, so these should do the trick.

I also knit her a baby cozy for taking pictures of newborns in, She didn’t have a really tiny baby to take pictures of yet, but baby Gavin is the youngest one we know so you can get the idea from this:

  1. Good job on the socks Jana. The real winner is the baby cozy though. I love that idea!

  2. I have to agree…. You are so talented. I keep getting little thoughts of ideas but they quickly get skwelched when I don’t know quite how to start it. Darn it all…. Thanks for the continued inspiration though.

  5. Who is the lucky mother of that kid…isn’t he just too cute. He was a little annoyed to be put in the baby cozy…but the picture sure turned out cute.
