I’m going to put this on my blog.

Filed under: carmen, me — Jana @ 9:38 am

Guess what Carmen finally figured out how to do? Yep- she climbed out of her crib! I was beginning to get over confident that she wouldn’t figure it out until she was like 3 1/2 or something. I only thought that because she is a climber and if she hadn’t figured it out by now…

But alas, no, she figured it out and now my life is over. Ok so it’s not that big of a deal, but it is annoying. So instead of just fighting to keep her in her crib with punishments and such, I have just accepted it and turned her crib into a toddler bed. (Oh, and put a lock on the outside of her door, of course.) Mommy still needs nap time, even if Carmen thinks she doesn’t :).

I guess I should have expected it any day now since she is the size of a three and a half year old… and she is so freaking smart!

The other day Carmen and I were coloring together. I colored her a page in her princess coloring book which must have struck her fancy… because she ripped it out and was carrying it around for a while. A little while later she walked up to me and said “I’m gonna put this on my bwog”.

I’m not sure if she ever did, Her blog is private and she wont send me an invite.

  1. She probably just ran out of spaces – you can only invite like 100 people to read your blog. Don’t take it personally that you don’t make the top hundred.

I can’t believe she is in a bed now – WEIRD.

  2. That is flippin hilarious! Carmen has the best little personality. What happened to Ariel having red hair though, Jana? Come on! ha ha

  3. That is hilarious! Ask if she ‘ll invite me to her blog too! Life totally changes once they are in a big girl bed. And i won’t say that it is for the better. I like the baby prison!

  4. So Camryn can climb IN her crib but not OUT. How weird is that? Good luck with the “toddler” bed. I did that exact thing with Cam a little while ago and she freaked. Carmen seems to like it though.

  6. I can’t believe she just figured it out! I guess it was nice while it lasted. I bet she is loving to get in and out all day.

  7. The transition into the bed thing wasn’t as bad as I expected…hopefully it’s not to harsh for you. Ok the “bwog” comment was soo cute. My little 2-yr old nephew was at the computer the other day and her mom asked, what are you doing? And he said, checking my emails!

  9. Ok, that’s funny! I love her crib/bed… why didn’t they make cool things like that when I had babies??

  10. It is such a bummer when they can get out. I put a lock on the outside of the door too. It seemed to help. So now we want to get Drew into a big boy bed so Gavin can have the crib but Drew will not give up the crib. He keeps saying Gavin in big boy bed. I love the blowg comment. Kids do pick up on EVERYTHING we do.

  12. Carmie is a bwogger. That’s awesome! Good luck with the toddler bed. I’m a big supporter of a lock door. :) Sometimes a mom’s gotta do what a mom’s gotta do.

  14. Yeay – I got my cute stuff from your Etsy shop and love it. Thanks so much. PS – the shipping was a couple bucks less than I thought it was going to be, so I owe ya.
