more carmen moments

Filed under: carmen, family, me — Jana @ 9:15 pm

I just have to write down some cute Carmen moments, for my own memory’s sake.

  • Pottytraining is going great! We only had 1 accident today and it didn’t count because it happened outside. Ok so it probably does count, but I didn’t have to clean up a puddle, and she made it through the whole trip to the library in undies, so I say we’re even!  Tonight she said she had to go potty, so she grabbed my copy of Wuthering heights and ran in to sit on the toilet. Then she proceeded to “read” to me out of the book. “Once upon a time, there was a gril who found a rock. The End” And she told me that same story about 10 times with a few variations I couldn’t really understand, but I loved every one!
  • Everything she says has to have an ie sound on the end now , for example “Mom I want juicy”, or “can you put this in there (pointing to microwave) and make it hottie ?” (that one’s my favorite)
  • I taught her hide and go seek for the first time the other day. It was so awesome when she would be laughing so hard that she couldn’t keep herself hidden for even a second.  And as soon as she would find me she would yell “my turn” and hide in the exact same spot I just got out of.
  • Every night (and naptime) she asks me to sing her the same song (Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson) And we have developed such a routine out of it that I yawn at the exact same moment every single time right when I start singing. It makes us laugh because it never fails. Even my internal clock knows her bedtime routine.

(This is a really old pic Wendy took of Carmen, but it’s so cute it needed a little more play)I just love her innocence, and will be sad to see it wear off as she grows into an adult.  It’s just so pure.

  2. I love the hottie question, too. If anyone can make it hottie, it’s Jana!

  4. I know I’ve said this before, but you’re so lucky to have blogging right now! I wish so bad I would have written all these things down when my boys were little. Time really does fly, and I’m enjoying every minute of them right now, but it’s still sad to see them so grown up!

  5. So, I heard a song today and it reminded me of us in our HS/post HS days…Feelin’ Love by Paula Cole. Not exactly a primary song! Do you remember how we loved that song – it was on the City of Angels soundtrack and not many people knew about it? And, that we were going to play it for our husbands one day? I might have to intro it to Todd! Anyway, it was just a blast from the past.

  6. Brenden used to say “It’s coldy!” when it got a little chilly outside. The mouths of babes…love it. So who taught Carmie to read on the pot? :)
