Blue Lily Photography!

I know I have been slacking in the blog department, but everyone has blog slumps… so I guess this is mine. I hope you don’t get too bored with a purely pregnancy related blog for the next few months, but wait… This is my blog so actually I don’t really care who it bores.

I am almost 17 weeks along now, and as you can see my belly is already growing quite rapidly (along with other parts of my body, some good and some not so good).  They say that on the 2nd baby your belly  pops out sooner, well that certainly is true with me.  I know my friends are sick to death with my complaining about maternity jeans, but I need some help.  Who knows where I can get some really cute maternity jeans that don’t look like maternity jeans?  I need something really low rise, that are long enough for me.  Preferably without the huge belly pouch, or baggy crotch.  There has got to be something out there, I just don’t know where to look.  So please help me.

I had my pregnancy check up earlier this week, and everything is looking really good.  The doctor was able to take some really good pictures of the baby’s anatomy including a great shot of the heart, spine, etc. So the baby is looking really healthy, Which is a huge relief that I made it past that 15 week mark!  Oh and yes it still looks like it is going to be a boy… Which we are excited about.

My Morning sickness is all but gone, YAY!  Even though I didn’t have it as bad this time, it is soooo nice to have a little energy back.

I will try my darnedest to think of some other blog post to do before now and my 5 month post, but I am not making any promises.

  1. Jana, you look beautiful, as usual. I wore regular clothes for as long as I could. I actually bought my favorite Express jeans & Lucky jeans in a bigger size that were low-rise and that worked for a long time. For my maternity jeans, I had to search long and hard. Unless I could order long in the length online at Old Navy, the ON jeans were ALWAYS too short for me. Motherhood is always so blah-zae, but I found one or two things there. The two places that I found a few great things were Ross (hit & miss), but at least they had a maternity department and Burlington Coat Factory (hit & miss). I don’t know if you have either near you, but something similar might work. It also helps to know the days they get their shipments in! I actually have a TON of cute maternity clothing because I was working full-time while I was prego with Tristan and had to dress up every day, which meant I couldn’t wear pajamas and a t-shirt all the time, which is what I wanted to do. Traci & Mindy both borrowed some of my stuff with their last pregnancies. I wish you were here and you could hoard through my stuff if you wanted.

  2. One more place that I don’t usually shop, but I found a couple of long pairs of pants there is GAP.

  3. Congrats! I’m happy to hear you and baby are doing well.

I had a killer time finding clothes that fit but eventually found some maternity jeans at Gap that I loved. My favorite were the demi panel jeans and I also had to order the tall lengths online… kinda a pain but worth it.

    Good luck.

  4. I am so excited for you guys! Little boys are so fun and so different from girls!

I got all of my maternity jeans from GAP. I loved that I could order them in different lengths and the styles were cute. Plus they weren’t too expensive!

  5. I never found any good maternity jeans. I think Lauren had some cute ones but maybe they are too short for you. Hopefully you find some…I hate the whole saggy crotch pants.

  6. You are just gorgeous. You know I am no help with clothes advice, but I can commiserate at least! I had the saggy crotch phenomena happening until my belly was bigger, even with Gap stuff.

  7. Congrats on it being a boy, they are a ton of fun and really different from the girl thing! You look so beautiful (as always) in your pregnancy pictures! I hope all continues to go well. Have you guys got any names picked out yet???

  8. I don’t know what you’re talking about when you say you are growing in some not so good parts. You look DARN good. That’s no joke!! You are one HOT pregnant mama. I think it’s so awesome that you are having photos done on a regular basis. I don’t have many photos of me pregnant. I’m thinking about getting some maternity photos done this time, especially since this will be my last baby. So glad to hear that everything is going well!!

  9. Ah maternity jeans suck. Sorry for that, but you look great anyways! I’m so glad to hear that everything is going well. Love you guys.

  10. My favorite maternity jeans are Seven For all Mankind. Citizens of Humanity are good too. You can get slightly used or brand new ones on ebay. They have a long inseam too!

  11. Yeah! Congrats Jana! I know I’m a little slow when it comes to knowing and getting around to things! But I wanted to give you a little shout out and say “Hi”, and “congrats” and you look gorgeous! I am no help in the maternity wear dept. thought. I think I got most of my stuff at Gap, but check out Michael Stars online. Take care!

  12. I so know how you feel!! Finding a good pair of prego jeans (without paying a fortune) is a hard task to accomplish. Old Navy and I are usually not friends when it comes to pants and jeans, but I finally gave in and ordered a pair of their maternity low-rise boot cut jeans (in long) online. Surprisingly, I love them! No ugly belly band and they’re stretchy too so they’re more forgiving. Eve loved ’em too. Stay away from Motherhood. I actually found a pretty cute pair I liked, wore them twice and saggy crotch ensued… ick. Good luck and I’m anxious to hear what you find!

  13. I’m with cobabe. if you want a sagless crotch and a long enough pant that is stylish, then you just have to pay some bucks. Babystyle has some good ones if you are ever at Fashion Island. My only problem is that I never take into account my thigh growth and by the end of pregnancy the cute pants don’t fit anyway! good luck.
