Moseley (aka chunky, Mister, or Mosawee) is 4 1/2 months old now. IMG_0340

He is just the apple of my eye.  He is getting so big, so fast, I can’t believe it. I have really treasured the time I have had with him, and I am really excited for each new milestone in his development, but I am so sad my cuddly, floppy, little baby is going away so fast.  IMG_0345

He now weighs 17 1/2 lbs and he is 27 inches long.  He is in the 90th percentile for height and the 75th for weight.  He is a big boy.  He has the hugest, cutest, squishy, chunky thighs that I just love to squeeze.   He has always been a very mellow quiet baby.  He has a quiet little cry that he does when he wants attention, and it’s so sweet, you can’t help but to comply…  Although he is getting more vocal every day.  He is learning how to use his voice to make different squeaks and grunts, it is very funny.  The look on his face when he is babbling makes you think he is really telling you something important.  He is mommy’s little chiller, and I love him for it. 100_0182 He is also the happiest baby that has ever lived.  The first comment I get from everyone is what a happy boy he is.  He always has a smile for whoever wants one, and he has the cutest dimple on his left cheek.  It mirrors mine on my right.100_0150

(sorry I know they are both blurry but they both have really good dimple shots… plus I think the happiness shines through the blur.)

He is getting really good with his hands at picking up and playing with toys, although he is getting very pinchy.  He loves to grab a fist-full of the back of  my arm skin, and just SQUEEZE it. It’s ok though… I ain’t mad at him, I got nuthin’ but love for him.

Man I just love that kid!  The day he gets married I am going to be so bummed!  That might sound like a weird thing to say, but it’s true.  Twenty some odd years doesn’t sound like enough to be his one and only girl.

Carmen had swim lessons the last few weeks.

(I guess she thought she needed a pair of my socks on to get ready for swimming lessons)

The last two weeks have been fun/stressful.  She didn’t really learn much, but it got her comfortable in the deep water, which is as much as you can probably ask for from city swim lessons.  It has gotten us out of the house everyday, which is good for Carmen, but man, it was really cutting into my sitting around time!   No but seriously, I am glad for a break from them so I can catch up on some laundry or something.  In a few weeks we’ll do it all over again.

Carmen is very funny right now, I am constantly laughing at the stuff she comes up with.  I update my facebook status with her daily wisdom all the time,  since I don’t really know how to get through all the junk that is facebook I will put some of the more recent ones here:

Carmen: “mom, I have sand in my bum bum”

Carmen walked by our auto open garbage can and it set off the motion sensor. When it opened she turned to it and said “No No garbage can.”

Carmen is watching 101 dalmatians, and she came over and covered Moseley’s eyes and said “this is too scary for him!”

Carmen says to Moseley: “Mosawee… You’re hot.” Me: “haha… Hot.” Carmen: “Mom, you’re hot too, so am I… We’re all hot!” Hey, I see nothing wrong with spreading the love.

Carmen woke up early and I didn’t want her to wake up the whole house, so I told her to pick out 1 quiet toy to play with. Her first pick- toy cell phone. Umm try again. Her second pick bongo drums.

Carmen having a full conversation with Moseley (4 months)… speaking both parts.

Carmen was eating an apple and she started pulling on the stem saying “it’s stuck, there’s a cherry stuck in here”

the nursery teacher asked Carmen “what is your daddy’s name?” Her answer… “babe”

Her new favorite hobby is taking pictures with my little digital camera. Besides her taking tons of  super closeups of inanimate objects, she occasionally gets some cute ones.

Carmen is really protective of her brother.  She loves him, and loves to help me take care of him.  They are best buds.  Any time anyone teases her about taking Moseley home with them she says “No… then I won’t have a baby anymore!”

About twice a week she asks me “Mom, can we keep him?”  And I assure her that, Yes, we can… He’s ours forever.

  11. WOW! What great posts! I cannot, like CANNOT, believe that I forgot about that silly hypnotists show! HA! I sure am glad Michael missed that one or I am pretty sure he wouldn’t have married me. Phew! I love all of the pictures. They are so great and I am so jealous of Mosely’s little dimple. I was hopeing one of my kids would get at least one from me but no. Anyway, you look hot and like you are having a ton of fun. I really miss you!
