harajuku girls

I have freaking awesome friends.

The above picture is Shannon.  She hates this picture… We all love it, so to the blog it goes.  It was Shannon’s birthday last week so some of the sewing night girls decided she needed a party.  Wendy (yes, the ever amazing photographer of blue lily photo… that Wendy) was hosting this little shindig.  She was asking for theme ideas and all the girls came up with some super good ones (which I am sure you will see pictures of in the future… when we do another one of these crazy parties) I threw out that we should do a harajuku girls party.  Harajuku (for those of you not versed in the world of Gwen Stefani) are Japanese punk/school girl/baby dolls.  There are pretty much no rules in the world of harajuku… so we just kind of went nuts, as you can see.DSC_9738

We had a lot of fun dressing up, acting crazy, and freaking out the husbands who encountered us.  And mostly just chatty chat chatting, and eating junk food… the things we do best.

I made Shannon a pink lemonade birthday cake.DSC_9818

and here they are, my lovely ladies… rad. seriously.  I feel really lucky to have found such a fun group of girls.

(and no, I didn’t realize I was doing the bend-and-snap for this picture until now… in case you were wondering.)

  10. Sounds like tons of fun. I totally love the bend and snap! And I had wondered where those wigs had gone (from our alternative days at the Vortex). Do you have the purple one too? I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Seriously though, you guys are adorable! :)

  11. I would totally love that recipe if you get a chance to email it to me. I was seriously disgusted about how my pie turned out. I was so embarassed I didn’t even want Michael to try it. All that work for nothin’! I would love a chance to redeem myself with a new recipe!
