4th of july

Filed under: family, holidays — Jana @ 8:13 pm

I realize I am really behind on this post, but it’s not my fault… the rat running on a wheel inside my ancient computer is an lazy slob, so it takes me a month to post anything.

We had a super low-key day… it was awesome.  I just baked some pies (lemon, and peach).  Then in the early evening we just decided to pack up some stuff for a picnic to go see some fireworks on the side of some random road.  It was so much fun.

Moseley spent the night trying to run into the street, while I chased after him.

Carmen acted goofy and danced for us.

Lee manned the grill and made us up some ribeyes and squash.

then we watched some sweet fireworks.

Afterwards we headed to the riverside drive in to watch eclipse all snuggled together in the back of our car in blankets and sleeping bags while the kids slept.  Sometimes the simplest days are the most magical.

  1. That’s so awesome! Time with family IS what it’s all about- besides the hokey pokey, of course. ;)

    Love you!
    Kisses all around.

    Love, Mom
